“Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Neo in The Matrix. Harry Potter in all those books. They were living ordinary dull lives, thinking of themselves as ordinary and dull. But all along there was something extraordinary within them. They had a destiny to fulfill… This is your story. You were created to fulfill a destiny that was designed by God before your birth (Eph. 2:10). There isn’t anything ordinary about you. Even as you read these words, you feel a supernatural strength stirring deep inside you.”—
Unka Glen (unkaglen.tumblr.com)
that’s a good quote, and makes good sense… but in all honesty it doesn’t change any matters… the people Unka Glen mentioned were all people who had the destiny to choose whether the world/galaxy/universe/whatever is either damned or saved. They had the fate of everyone on their shoulders.
The destiny she compares that to, that is God given, is just a destiny to live forever. Not forever in fame, or forever as the savior of the Galaxy… that was the destiny of Jesus. Our individual destiny’s are purely to decide the fate of ourselves… damned or saved. Its nowhere near as epic as the destiny of Luke, Neo, or Harry… or any of the other Hero’s out there.
And if you think about it with truth and honesty… its just as boring and dull as every day life.
